Passage: Colossians 1:15-23
In Paul's Letter to the Colossians he writes to warn against being led astray and moving off of the gospel-centered message of Christ crucified for our sins. In doing so, Paul is doing what he does best, that is, making much of Christ! Here in Colossians 1:15-23, he establishes the preeminence of Christ over all things, visible and invisible! "Imaging the Invisible God" is the astonishing mystery of the God-man, Jesus Christ—he who spoke and flung the stars into orbit also flung his arms open to receive the nails that reconcile us who were once alienated, hostile, and evil. Can we even imagine a God so vast and loving?
