Passage: Genesis 37:1-11
God gave Joseph dreams to confirm (or foretelling) what he would do through his acts of providence. God’s acts of providence will save his people! This is true because God told this to Joseph in his two dreams and then he made it happen. His brothers hated him and his father rebuked him for telling them the dreams, but God meant all of it for their good and God’s glory! This is a reminder that no matter what we are going through or facing, God is working all things together for our good and His glory. This story is a reminder to God’s people that His acts of providence brought about the saving of many lives through Joseph and this is a foreshadow of Christ’s work on the cross.
